Polyvance Nylon and 15% Glass Fiber Welding Rod, 3/8" x 1/16" x 12", 30 ft., Black

If you have a broken plastic part the has the markings "PA+GF15", that tells you that the part is "Polyamide" (PA) plus 15% glass fibers (GF). (Polyamide is the "generic" name for "Nylon".) It may have markings like "PA+GF20" or "PA+GF30" or some other number next to GF. Whatever number follows the "GF" is the percentage of glass fibers that are in the nylon. Since PA+GF15 is the only glass-filled nylon we offer, this would be your best option whenever you have a broken, glass-fiber reinforced nylon part. Nylon is a plastic with a very high melting point and is used in places where high temperatures are present, like radiator tanks and intake manifolds. Nylon has a very distinct smell when melted. Because of the high melting point of nylon, it is often necessary to preheat the area you are going to weld with a heat gun. This will make welding much quicker. Because of the pressure and temperatures on nylon radiator tanks, it is very important that the rod fuse with the base material. Anything less than a complete fusion repair will result in a money-losing comeback job. This is a 30 ft. (9.1 m) package. Each rod is 1 ft. (30 cm) long and 3/8th inch (9.5 mm) wide by 1/16th inch (1.6 mm) thick.15% glass fibers for additional tensile strength.Squared edges resist curling when weldingWorks with hot air, nitrogen and airless plastic welders.
